The Habitat by Asia Leisure is located right along the turtle beach in the coastal area of Kosgoda. It is situated about 10 kilometers from Bentota, a famous city known for its tourism. Kosgoda is home to a population of nearly 3,000 people and is approximately 72 kilometers south of Colombo.

Accommodation
The hotel boasts 4 floors with 26 deluxe rooms and 2 suites. The 3rd floor of the hotel holds the best view which can be seen in the photos. The facilities in the hotel room included Wi-Fi, flat-screen television, bathtub, mini bar, and other general facilities.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in a deluxe room with an amazing view. We checked into a Triple room with a full board basis. The price per night was Rs 35,000. The room consisted of a comfortable king-size double bed with an extra single bed. In my opinion, the single bed was a bit too small.

The layout of the washroom was an attractive one with a big size bathtub. The bathroom and the room were separated by a glass which had a nice touch to the room.

Every room had a balcony with a splendid view of the sea which was a great view when enjoying a cup of coffee.

The prices of the room depended on the on-off peak season, the type of room and deals (example discounts of booking.com, etc...)

Dining
We stayed at the hotel inclusive of the full board and started our first meal at lunch. We had all our meals from their main restaurant named ‘Salt’. The dining area included a poolside view of both an indoor and outdoor seating arrangement.

Lunch
Lunch that day was buffet style which served a wide range of dishes that included a salad area, delicious dessert area and main dishes which was rich in flavor. Since we had arrived after a tiring two-hour journey, we skipped the large salad area and went straight to the main course. The main course had a few meat dishes, biryani, Sri Lankan style curries, and Western-style dishes as well. The buffet wasn’t a big one, but each dish was different from the next. Similarly, the dessert section didn’t comprise of many dessert items but had a wide range of other specialities.

Opening the buffet on a day is decided on the number of guests on that specific day.

Tea time
We got ready for tea after a session of swimming in the pool. We decided to have a combination of coffee with pizza. It was the chicken pizza we had ordered. When it arrived, from a distance, the pizza looked quite small but in fact, it was filled with chicken. They arranged tea for us right beside the pool as well.

Dinner
For dinner since the number of guests were less, they had a four-course menu selection. But my parents weren’t happy with the selection, therefore, the chefs agreed to dish up special rice and curry for us.

Breakfast
Breakfast consisted of English and Sri Lankan cuisines. We ordered both types of cuisines until the table was full. They had arranged a table for us beside the pool which was a nice view. Starting from the English dishes to the Sri Lankan dishes, overall the breakfast was quite good.

Service
From the time we reached the hotel, everyone was having a pleasant smile on their faces and were quite friendly. Starting from the welcome drink we always felt welcomed everywhere we went in the hotel. The staff were always ready at our service and kept the place quite neat, clean and tidy. The chefs went the extra mile to make us comfortable during the previous night dinner which proved that their service was quite good.

Ambience
The atmosphere was quite a relaxing one, especially since the staff was quite friendly and nice. The hotel was not very crowded and therefore noise did not bother us. The overall views from the room and during mealtimes were attractive, enjoyable and pleasing to the eye.

Finally
In conclusion, I must say the experience we had at The Habitat, Kosgoda was a pleasant and enjoyable one and I would recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Kosgoda or around that area.
