Cafe Blanca down the road in Malalsekara Mawatha, Colombo 5 was where I headed to last Sunday. Opened only recently I was captivated by their interior decoration and retro concepts!

I went and picked up the menu and ordered the healthy “Carrot & Orange Juice which was proced at LKR 450LKR” It tasted more on the orangy side with less sugar which is usually not my choice but then I decided to go healthy anyway! I also decided to switch gears and try their “Chocolate Shake which was priced at LKR 550LKR” which was selected by my friend and surprisingly did not have a lot of sugar. The chocolate had a good blend and the drinks were overall worth the price we paid for it.

Moving onto the food we selected the “Soonchi Salad for a price of LKR 550LKR” from their salad menu which was filled with chicken, fried eggs, bacon, croutons and lettuce. Not being your usual salad person, I really enjoyed this salad and I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to try it!

After that I tried the “Shenu’s Wrap for LKR. 750LKR” which my friend tried. It was a crispy prawn wrap and filled fresh vegetables and avocado. It was slightly disappointing as it tasted quite mediocre with not the amount of prawns we expected. They instead compensated for a good amount of crispy fries!

They also serve 2 mini chicken burgers as “Ego sliders for a price of LKR 600LKR ” which comes with a green salad. It was a home made bun which wasn’t too soft. The chicken patty and a caramelized spicy onion topping was quite good. The overall combination of green salad was also a good idea!!

For dessert we selected the “Zee’s Oreo Pudding for LKR 480LKR” which consists of an Oreo biscuit insde a mug and on top of it this gooey goodness of pudding was definitely a winner as the sugar was well balanced not too much or too little – just perfect! .

With 3 floors in Cafe Blanca filled with a natural calming atmosphere with their artistic wall art definitely helped in the overall foodie experience. Their kitchen area was on the 1st floor where you can experience a cozy dining experience. The upper floor is filled with ample vintage style seating that was bursting with vibrant colors to fix the mood is indeed a place to go if you are looking for a place to hang out with friends to relax and have a good time!
