The newly introduced American multinational fast-food chain "Popeyes Louisiana kitchen" is now open at the basement car park at Softlogic hypermarket complex, Mount Lavinia.

As everyone is aware of, Popeyes is a fried chicken fast food based restaurants chain that was founded in 1972 and Softlogic Group owns the franchise for "Popeyes in Sri Lanka".

Few weeks ago we at travel for food decided to try out their delicious food as it was on the hype as it was newly opened.

Everything here is fried so we decided to try burgers, fried chicken & drinks.
We got our order to our hand within 6-8 minutes.

Classic chicken burger, Cajun fries and a drink (we chose mojito for an additional charge as it was a good selection to go with our food)

The simple soft airy bun was fresh with just mayo, zucchini and a piece of chicken fillet which was yum!!!
The tender fresh crispy, juicy and flavorful chicken just melted in my mouth, just perfect for replacing your fast food cravings no doubt.
The fries on the other hand was crispy and had lots of salt.
THE BUN SIZE WAS SMALL though, not what we expected for a large burger.

The mojito on the other hand was lightly minty but very much tasted like the regular sprite.

Fried chicken is an all time comforting favorite of mine and these are the best to me after all!!
Really juicy and flavorful "I love that chicken".

Popeyes Srilanka is still a few weeks old here and doing their best to serve us the best with a quick, friendly service and good food.

-We visited them on a Friday evening and it is still a bit crowded yet.
