Kaluthara, a coastal town in the western province which is located approximately 40 km south of the capital Colombo. The area is well known to produce the Mangosteens and very famous among the Buddhist devotees for the Kaluthara bodhiya, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka.
